Two trumpets, one silver and one copper, were recovered from Tutankhamun's burial chamber and on 16th April 1939 the BBC made a live broadcast of the sound of them being played at the British Museum by bandsman James Tappern of Prince Albert's Own 11th Royal Hussars regiment after more than 3000 years' silence.[1][2]

Delia used the sound of the silver trumpet to create the pieces Tutankhamun's Egypt and Tutankhamun's Trumpet.

Spectrogram

This is the original recording, analyzed from 220Hz to 14080Hz. The fundamentals of the three notes are about 490Hz, 730Hz and 950Hz.
