Long Distance Piano Player was the first ever programme in the BBC's Play for Today series, broadcast on 15th October 1970[1] and starring Ray Davies and directed by Philip Saville about a several-day marathon of non-stop piano playing.
Mark Ayres' Initial Catalogue describes one of Delia's tapes as "Long Distance Piano Player?"[2] and it is listed on Briscoe's 1971 list of BBC Radiophonic Workshop productions.[3] but all the music is orchestral, solo piano or jazz and the Radiophonic Workshop is not credited[4].
