Dear Miss Derbyshire,

                  Italia Prize 1970
                  -----------------
As you know, "The Bagman" or "The Impromptu of
Muswell Hill" is being entered by the BBC for the
Italia Prize for Literary and Drmatic Works.

Under the conditions of entry it is necessary for
the division of prize money (in the event of the programme
being selected) to be agreed in advance. The BBC propose
that any prize money awarded to "The Bagman" or "The
Impromptu of Muswell Hill" should be divided as follows:-

     20% to yourself as composer

40% to Martin Esslin as producer

40% to John Arden as author

I should be grateful if you would let me know if this
distribution is acceptable to you.

May I wish you every success in the competition.

                        Yours sincerely

           [Signed] M. Parotte
