Part of her music for Travelling In Winter was renamed Dreaming for issue on a BBC record of sound effects.[1]

Delia says she made it for her Aztec music:

a few years ago I heard my music on The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy. I wrote to the Producer who said 'Yeah, it's called Dreaming'. I've never done anything called that. They had picked out a piece which I wrote for a programme about the Aztec and Mayan civilisations. They put a new title on it and used it behind Peter Jones voice.[2]

but it was in 1976[3] that BBC Record Out Of This World was released with some of her music on it, renamed Dreaming while Delia started work on the Aztec suite in October 1968[4] and it is not to be heard in the final music for the Aztec programme, so either

  • the music that was reused in the Guide was not Dreaming or
  • the producer was mistaken or lying about what of her music had been reused for the Guide (since her Dreaming was already issued on a BBC Record).

HHGTTG fans, can you locate where Dreaming or any of her Aztec music is used in the Guide behind Peter Jones' voice?
