Two trumpets, one silver and one copper, were recovered from Tutankhamun's burial chamber and on 16th April 1939 the BBC made a live broadcast of the sound of them being played at the British Museum by bandsman James Tappern of Prince Albert's Own 11th Royal Hussars regiment after more than 3000 years' silence.[1][2]
