Les Structures Sonores was a group of Parisian avant-garde musicians, among whom Lasry Baschet, who Verity Lambert first thought of approaching to create the Doctor Who Theme before asking Delia to have a go.
The first producer of Doctor Who, Verity Lambert, she had in her mind Les Structures Sonores, this group from Paris. Their music sounded really electronic but in fact they were all acoustic instruments.[1]
There is a short excerpt of their music in the radio programme These Hopeful Machines.
